I’ve been to plenty of cities and towns in Europe and am always looking for the best places to go. I seek out the weird sites, the unusual sites, the unique sites but most of all… the free sites! There are so many great free places to find and explore throughout the entire continent, I know, I have lists of them. From London to Paris, Berlin to Prague I’ve found many free sites to visit and I know there are still hundreds I’ve yet to find. Below are my favourite free sites from various European cities and towns. It is only a snippet of what’s on my lists, I know of at least 5 to 20 free sites in most of the places I’ve been and from places I’ve yet to experience. So, enjoy this teaser of what you can find.
London – The British Library
The museum containing rare books, documents and copies of the Magna Carta is not to be missed.
Paris – The Pompidou Centre
The architecture is worth the visit alone as this building looks as if it was constructed inside out.
Nice - Cours Saleya Flower Market
Not just a flower market, a flea market also with the best food and dals early in the mornings.

| Frankfurt Town Square |
Rebuilt since the war but in its day would have been amazing.

You can walk almost the entire way around the old town on the walls. The views and photo opportunities are stunning as well as the medieval bits and pieces (like a free museum) you find along the way.
Berlin – The Jewish Memorial
This collection of thousands of randomly sized concrete blocks is not supposed to represent anything in particular; it is supposed to provoke thought. However, the randomness is something to think about.

Remains of a medieval cemetery with an 18th century baroque church also on the site.

An 1851 train station turned into giant indoor tropical garden.
San Sebastion - Museum de San Telmo
Best museum in the city located in a 16th century monastery.

Walk along this street to see the best preserve building facades and wrought iron business signs. The signs are from a time when each craft/trade had a unique sign.

At the end of this avenue is the monument to Poles executed here during WWII. Hopefully this will whet your appetite for what else you may find. Happy travelling!
